Changing a Recording's File Location

You can change the SMART Recorder settings to select a recording's file location.

NOTE: You can also change a recording's video and audio quality.

To change a recording's file location

  1. Select Menu > Options in SMART Recorder.

A dialog box appears.

  1. Press the Target Files tab.

  2. To change the folder in which SMART Recorder saves files:

  1. Press the Browse button next to the Default Save Directory box.

  2. Browse to and select the folder in which you want to save the files.

  3. Press Set.

TIP: For best performance, save the files on your computer's hard disk rather than a network drive.

  1. To change the folder in which SMART Recorder saves temporary files:

  1. Press the Browse button next to the Temporary Files Directory box.

  2. Browse to and select the folder in which you want to save the temporary files.

  3. Press Set.

TIP: For best performance, save files and temporary files on the same drive to reduce the time needed to save a recording.

  1. To configure SMART Recorder to display a message when available disk space is low:

  1. Select the Warn me if free disk space is below check box.

  2. Type a disk space limit that indicates to SMART Recorder that available disk space is low.

  1. Type a disk space limit below which SMART Recorder will pause recording.

  2. Press OK.

To restore the default file location of recordings

  1. Select Menu > Options in SMART Recorder.

A dialog box appears.

  1. Press the Target Files tab.

  2. Press Restore Defaults.

  3. Press OK.
