When you create a Flip Out flip card activity, you can use as many cards as you like and choose from different themes, such as Flippin’ Monkeys Island or Jungle themes, or Low-gravity Flip Out Mars and Moon themes.
You can preview an activity from the Add an Activity window.
Press Preview this Activity.
The Activity Preview window opens, giving detailed information about the activity.
Press Cancel to close the window, or press Add this Activity to continue building the activity.
Open Lesson Activity Builder by pressing the toolbar icon in the Notebook toolbar.
The Add an Activity window opens.
In the Choose Design Template and Theme window, select a Flip Out theme from either the Flippin’ Monkeys or Low gravity Flip Out activities by pressing its thumbnail image. The thumbnail is highlighted with a blue box.
The Add content dialog box opens
Press the blue-highlighted cells under Card back and Card face and start typing to add text to the back and face of the flip cards, or click the file folder icon to add an image. See the TIP below.
Create as many cards as you need. If you create more than 12 cards, the additional cards will be located in the middle of the Notebook desktop, along with the Discard pile.
Card placement is random.
You can also paste or drag and drop sort items associated with the category, or add category content from a previously saved list. For more information about adding content, see Managing Lesson Activity Builder content.
You can also see how many cards you’ve made.
To use an image in your Flip card activity, click the file folder icon in either content list. Select the image from the appropriate Windows Explorer folder by clicking Open. The image will then appear in the Card back or Card face list and also on the flip cards.
The Add game components dialog box opens. Select an optional game component if desired. See Adding a game component to your activity.
Press Finish. LAB builds the activity, and it will be ready for use after a few moments.
Have students flip over cards to reveal what’s on the other side. For example, the back of a card may be named “run,” while the face of the card is named “verb.” After the card has been flipped and the content discussed, it can be dragged to the discard pile.
You can navigate Lesson Activity Builder by pressing one of the navigation buttons at the top of the Activity Creation wizard.
You can preview an activity from the Add an Activity menu.
Press Preview this Activity to open the Flip Out flip card Activity Preview. The preview gives you more information about the activity you have chosen.
