Using Microsoft’s ink tools

Using Microsoft’s ink tools, you can write or draw, highlight content and erase ink in Microsoft Office applications.

ClosedTo write or draw

  1. PressMicrosoft Ink toolbar orMicrosoft Ink toolbar (mini).

    Microsoft’s ink tools options appear.

  2. Select PenPen icon.

  3. If you want to change the pen color or thickness, press Select ColorSelect Color icon, and then select a color or thickness from the Pen Tools ribbon.

  4. Write or draw in your document.

  5. PressMicrosoft Ink toolbar orMicrosoft Ink toolbar (mini), and then select Select ToolSelect Tool icon when you’re done.

    Note 

    If you don’t complete this step, your interactive product continues interpreting screen touches as pen strokes.

ClosedTo highlight content

  1. PressMicrosoft Ink toolbar orMicrosoft Ink toolbar (mini).

    Microsoft’s ink tools options appear.

  2. Select HighlighterHighlighter icon.

  3. If you want to change the highlighter color or thickness, press Select ColorSelect Color icon, and then select a color or thickness from the Pen Tools ribbon.

  4. Highlight over content in your document.

  5. PressMicrosoft Ink toolbar orMicrosoft Ink toolbar (mini), and then select Select ToolSelect Tool icon when you’re done.

    Note 

    If you don’t complete this step, your interactive product continues interpreting screen touches as highlighting.

ClosedTo erase ink

  1. PressMicrosoft Ink toolbar orMicrosoft Ink toolbar (mini).

    Microsoft’s ink tools options appear.

  2. Select EraserEraser icon.

  3. Erase the ink with your interactive product’s eraser.

  4. PressMicrosoft Ink toolbar orMicrosoft Ink toolbar (mini), and then select Select ToolSelect Tool icon when you’re done.

    Note 

    If you don’t complete this step, your interactive product continues interpreting screen touches as erasing.
