Creating and working with content

A .notebook file consists of one or more pages. You can use the Page Sorter to view thumbnails of all pages in the open .notebook file and select specific pages to display. In addition, you can create new pages, clear or delete existing pages and complete other tasks. For more information, see Creating and working with pages.

Pages contain objects. Objects are the building blocks of content in SMART Notebook software. Basic types of objects include the following:

Digital ink (freehand writing and drawing)

Shapes and lines

Text

Tables

In addition to these basic types of objects, you can insert pictures, Adobe Flash Player compatible files, Adobe Flash Player compatible video files, sound files, Internet content and widgets in your .notebook files. This content can come from your own resources, from the Gallery or from the SMART Exchange website (see Using your own content and Using content from SMART resources).

You can manipulate any object in your .notebook files using a common set of tasks (see Working with objects).

After setting up content in a .notebook file, you can present that content to your students (see Using SMART Notebook software in your classroom).
