SMART Notebook 10 for Windows Operating Systems
NOTE: This feature is available only with some SMART products, including SMART Board 800 series interactive whiteboards and SMART Board 600 series interactive whiteboards purchased in 2009 or later. If you have an older interactive whiteboard, you can purchase a new controller to obtain Object Awareness.
If you’re using a SMART interactive product that supports this feature, you can enable Object Awareness (also known as Touch Recognition). It enables you to pick up a pen, and then write, select or erase without putting the pen back. Your interactive product interprets your intent when you press the screen based on the size of the contact area.
If you press the screen with the pen, your interactive product identifies a small contact area, and you write or draw in digital ink on the screen.
If you press the screen with your finger, your interactive product identifies a larger contact area, and you perform a left click.
If you press the screen with your palm, your interactive product identifies a much larger contact area, and you erase digital ink from the screen.
NOTE: Object Awareness behaves differently in SMART Notebook software on a SMART Board 800 series interactive whiteboard (see Allowing Two People to Use a SMART Board 800 Series Interactive Whiteboard).
