Setting up a custom icon strip
If your interactive product supports icon strips, you can set up a custom icon strip. The custom icon strip enables you to quickly access your frequently used tools by pressing the screen. You can position the custom icon strip on the left, right or bottom edge of the interactive product inside the black border.
Tip
Make sure that the edge of the tool strip is aligned with the frame of the interactive product.
To set up the custom icon strip

Control-click the Board Tools icon in the Dock, and then select .
Note
If your computer isn’t currently connected to an interactive product, the Board Tools icon includes an X in its lower-right corner.

Press SMART Hardware Settings.
If your computer is connected to more than one interactive product, the upper area of the SMART Settings window displays an image for each interactive product. Press the image of the interactive product you want to change settings for.

Select Set Up Icon Strips in the drop-down list.

Press Add.
The Available Strips dialog box appears.

Select Custom Strip, and then press OK to display the calibration screen.

Follow the on-screen instructions to define the corners of the icon strip.
Note
If you press the screen too far from the edge of the icon strip, an error message appears and you must try again.
After you complete the calibration, a list of available tools appears. These available tools are organized into four tabs: Launch, General, Tools and Display.

Do the following:

To add a tool in the Available Tools list to the icon strip, press its icon, and then press Add to move it to the Current Toolbar list.

To add a program button to the icon strip that isn’t included in the Available Tools list, press Browse, select the program’s executable file, and then press Open.

To add a link to a web page to the icon strip, press Link to website, type the web address, and then press OK.

To remove an icon from the Current Toolbar list, select the icon, and then press Remove.

To rearrange the order of the tools, select a tool in the Current Toolbar list, and then press Move Up or Move Down.
Note
You can include up to 11 icons in the Current Toolbar list.

Press OK to confirm your selection.

Press OK to close the SMART Settings window.
