Setting up a tool strip

If your interactive product supports icon strips, you can set up tool strips, which make display, writing and drawing features easily accessible from the screen.

You can position tool strips inside the black border on the left, right or bottom edge of your interactive product.

Tip 

Make sure that the edge of the tool strip is aligned with the frame of your interactive product.

To set up the tool strip

  1. Press the SMART Board iconSMART Board icon in the notification area, and then select SMART Settings.

    Note 

    If your computer isn’t currently connected to an interactive product, the SMART Board icon includes an X in its lower-right cornerSMART Board icon with X.

  2. Press SMART Hardware Settings.

    If your computer is connected to more than one interactive product, the upper area of the SMART Settings window displays an image for each interactive product. Press the image of the interactive product you want to change settings for.

  3. Select Set Up Icon Strips from the drop-down list.

  4. Press Add.

    The Available Strips dialog box appears.

  5. Select Tool Strip, and then press OK to display the calibration screen.

  6. Follow the on-screen instructions to define the corners of the tool strip.

    Note 

    If you press the screen too far from the edge of the icon strip, an error message appears and you must try again.

  7. Press OK to close the SMART Settings window.
