SMART Response has two views that you can work in: Basic view and Gradebook view.
In Basic view you can start a class and have students connect to it.
In Gradebook view you can create or edit a SMART Teacher file, manage class lists, generate class or student performance reports and perform many other tasks.
The first time you use Teacher Tools, it opens to Basic view by default. You can switch to Gradebook view, and then set the software to open to Gradebook view by default.
Click the SMART Response icon in the Windows notification area or Mac menu bar, and then select the icon below the Teacher Tools heading.
Click To work with class lists, assessments and reports, switch to Gradebook view.
Teacher Tools switches to Gradebook view.
Select the Start here when you start Teacher Tools check box in the bottom left corner of the window.
The next time you start Teacher Tools, it opens in Gradebook view.
