Troubleshooting digital ink

Issue

Recommendation

SMART Notebook software doesn’t recognize handwriting in your language.

Install the handwriting recognition file for your language (see smarttech.com/kb/144959).

You want your handwriting to appear more smooth and natural in SMART Notebook software.

Use the Calligraphic Pens tool rather than the Pens tool (see Writing or drawing digital ink with the Calligraphic Pens tool).

Note

The Calligraphic Pens tool is available only if your computer is connected to a SMART interactive product.

You’re having trouble writing smoothly in SMART Notebook software on Windows 7 operating system. The Single Finger Panning feature is turned on. Turn it off (see smarttech.com/kb/147470).

When you write with a pen, SMART Notebook software on Windows 7 operating system interprets your actions as mouse clicks.

The Flicks feature is turned on. Turn it off (see smarttech.com/kb/144274).
