Setting hardware acceleration preferences

Through hardware acceleration, SMART Notebook software completes some tasks using your computer’s graphics processing unit (GPU) rather than its central processing unit (CPU). Hardware acceleration improves the performance of SMART Notebook software on most computers. However, hardware acceleration can cause issues on some computers, such as content not displaying correctly and SMART Notebook software not responding. If you are encountering these issues, you can disable hardware acceleration.

To disable hardware acceleration

  1. Select Edit > Preferences.

The SMART Notebook Preferences dialog box appears.

  2. Press General.

  3. Clear the Use hardware acceleration to increase the speed of SMART Notebook software check box.

  4. Press OK.
