Getting started with your SMART Podium interactive pen display

Using your SMART Podium interactive pen display, you can write, draw and erase digital ink, and manipulate objects.

Writing, drawing and erasing digital ink

Using the interactive pen display tethered pen, you can write or draw digital ink.

To write or draw digital ink

  1. Press a Digital Ink pen tool button.

  2. Write or draw on the screen using the tethered pen.

To erase digital ink

  1. Press the Eraser pen tool button.

  2. Press the tethered pen on the interactive screen.

Manipulating objects

Objects include icons, buttons, links and other components of programs that appear on your screen. You can manipulate these objects using your interactive pen display as described below.

To select or clear the selection of an object

  1. Press the Select pen tool button.

  2. Press the interactive screen with the tethered pen.

    Notes 

    • This gesture performs a standard mouse click.

    • This gesture starts programs if your operating system is set to start programs on a single click.

To double-click an object

  1. Press the Select pen tool button.

  2. Press the screen with the tethered pen twice in the same spot.

    Note 

    This gesture starts programs if your operating system is set to start programs on a double-click.

To right-click an object

  1. Press the Right-Click pen tool button.

  2. Press the interactive screen with the tethered pen.

To move an object

  1. Press the Select pen tool button.

  2. Press and hold the object on the screen with the tethered pen.

  3. Move the pen.

  4. When you reach the position you want to move the object to, release the pen.

Panning

In addition to manipulating objects, you can pan pages.

Note 

Only some applications support panning.

To pan

  1. Press the Select pen tool button.

  2. Press the tethered pen to the screen in a blank area of the page.

  3. Keeping the tethered pen on the screen, move the tethered pen in the direction you want to pan.

  4. When you reach the area you want to view, release the tethered pen.
