Using license keys with your SMART amp subscription

You can use a license key to activate your SMART amp subscription or to update or upgrade your subscription. You can add multiple licenses to your subscription.

ClosedLocating a license key

  • If you purchased a SMART amp subscription, your reseller emailed important information about the purchase as well as a license key. If you weren’t the person who purchased the software, ask the purchaser to forward the email to you.

    Note 

  • If you're a SMART Notebook Advantage customer or you've purchased SMART Learning Suite, you can use the license keys from either of those products to activate SMART amp software.

    Notes 

    • Valid amp license keys are 22 characters long.
    • Valid Notebook software or Learning Suite license keys are 26 characters long.
ClosedDefining who can use a license key

You must be the Google Apps administrator for your school or district in order to use a license key and activate and manage your SMART amp subscription, as well as setting up users and groups in the Google Apps for Education (GAFE) account.

Once you have your Google Apps for Education set up, you can activate your SMART amp subscription by entering your license key.

ClosedTo activate the software

  1. Sign in to smartamp.com/admin.

  2. Read through and check off the Setup checklist items. Tap ? to read more details.

  3. Tap Sign in with Google.

  4. Sign in with your administrator credentials.

    The activation page opens.

  5. Follow the steps to confirm your domain, enter your license key, and accept the terms of use and privacy policy.

  6. Tap Activate Subscription.

ClosedManaging your amp subscription license keys

Once you have activated your amp software, you add multiple license keys to renew your subscription and upgrade from a trial license.

Note 

  • If your SMART amp expires, your classes and workspaces are saved and workspaces are accessible in view only mode. You can access the workspaces for editing after you renew your subscription.
ClosedTo view the license keys added to your amp subscription

  1. Sign in to smartamp.com/admin to complete the setup.

  2. Tap Show all license keys.

Notes 

  • Expired license keys are grayed out.

  • The license key with the longest remaining life is listed first and is the license key currently in use.

  • License keys are not cumulative. Your amp subscription will expire at the time of the longest license key’s expiry date.

  • Example 

    You have a license key that expires in two months and a license key that expires in six months.

    • The license key that expires in six months is listed first and is your active key.
    • Your amp subscription expires in six months.
ClosedTo add license keys

  1. Sign in to smartamp.com/admin to complete the setup.

  2. Tap Add License.

    The Add License window opens.

  3. Enter your new SMART amp license key, and then tap Add.

    Notes 

    • You can add up to 20 licenses at once.
    • You can add licenses to renew your subscription or to upgrade from a trial subscription.

  4. Tap OK when you’re done adding keys.

  5. If you’re adding more than 20 licenses, repeat Steps 3 and 4 until you’re done.
