Search
If you connect your computer to an interactive product and a video hardware source, such as a VCR or DVD/Blu-ray player, you can play video files from the video hardware source on the interactive product using SMART Video Player.
Notes
You can convert the signal from your VCR or DVD/Blu-ray player into a format that your computer understands using a video capture card.
You can also play files that are stored on your computer (see Playing a video file).
Select Hardware in SMART Video Player, and then select the video hardware source in the list.
Note
If the list doesn’t include the hardware source, check your computer’s and hardware source’s connections.
Tip
You can change SMART Video Player settings to save the last video hardware source (see Configuring SMART Video Player).
The output of the selected video hardware source appears in SMART Video Player.
Note
You’re unable to change the video playback speed using SMART Video Player if you’re playing a video from a connected VCR or DVD/Blu-ray player.
Press Pause.
Press Play.
Press Stop.
Select Settings > Playback Speed, and then select a playback speed from the list.
Note
To play the video continuously, press Repeat. To stop playing the video continuously, press Repeat again.
To write notes over the video frame in digital ink
Press Pen Tool, and then write on the interactive screen.
Tip
You can configure SMART Video Player to pause the video when you press Pen Tool.
Do the following:
To change the color of the digital ink, press Pen Color, and then select a color from the palette.
To change the width of the digital ink, press Pen Width, and then select a width in the list.
After you finish writing, press Select.
Press Clear the Notes.
To take a screen capture of the current video frame
Press Capture to Notebook.
Select Full Screen View.
The video display expands to the largest possible area and the Video Player toolbar appears. This toolbar enables you to play and pause videos, take screen captures of the current video frame, write notes over the video frame in digital ink and clear your notes.
To exit Full Screen view, press Normal View.
Note
If your computer’s video card doesn’t support hardware acceleration, you’re unable to change the view to 200% or Full Screen.
To change the volume, move the slider.
To mute the volume, press Mute Video.
To restore the volume, press Mute Video again.
Press the Close button in SMART Video Player.
