Adding text

You can add text to your workspace by doing either of the following:

  • Adding text from the Add text tab.

  • Typing text using a keyboard connected to your computer.

  1. Create or join a workspace.

  2. Tap the Add textAdd text tab tab.

  3. Double-tap or drag a text style into your workspace.

  4. The text editor appears.

    Notes 

    • If you’re using SMART amp on a computer, the toolbar appears at the top of the text editor. If you’re using SMART amp on a device, the toolbar appears at the bottom of the text editor.

    • If you’re using SMART amp on a computer, tap to make the text editor full screen. Tap again to make the text editor its normal size.

    • You can pan in the workspace while the text editor is open.

    • The text editor and toolbar adjusts to fit the browser window size. If the browser window is small, the toolbar becomes compact.

  5. Type your text. Make sure your text is highlighted, and then use the toolbar to the text’s font and size and other properties:

    Compressed toolbar:

    • Tap to expand the text editor and view the full toolbar. Tap it again to return to the compressed toolbar.

    • Tap to open the font option menu. From this menu you can apply bold, italic and/or underline styles to your text, or make your text subscript or superscript. Tap to return to the compressed toolbar.

    • Tap to open the text color selector.

      1. Select a color from the color menu, or add a custom color by selecting More colors and tapping inside the color wheel.

        The custom color is added to the color menu for the rest of the current amp session.

        Note 

        1. If you create a custom color in the text editor, the same custom color is available for the pen and highlighter tool during the current amp session. See Drawing and erasing.

    • Tap to change the justification, make a numbered list or make a bulleted list.

    • Tap to insert Greek characters, math symbols, fractions and arrows.

    • Press to undo the last action. Press to repeat the last action.

  6. When you’re finished, tap to place your text in the workspace.

  7. Double-tap text to re-open the text editor and edit the text font and styles.
